‘SAMARPAN’- An Ode to Guru

We had a beautiful musical morning on 5th August, flagging off the fortnight-long celebrations of our 75th Independence Day celebration. Our theme is Celebrating Indianness.

We had special guests from Tirupati - Shri Subba Reddy, Chairman Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and Shri Dharma Reddy, JEO TTD.

150 children, from classes 6 to 12, brought alive - Reverence to the Guru, through a musical ensemble. The program was composed of eight songs, each one including a special and divine message. The tremendous talent of all the musicians and instrumentalists was showcased perfectly and every element came together to tie the whole performance into a single, euphonious harmony. The musical compositions stood in a wide variety of languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Sanskrit, and consisted of Hindustani classical, Carnatic and even Western influenced melodies.

In the words of our respected Principal Madam, “Even though the number of students was over a hundred, the sound that resonated through the hall was just one.”

The harmonious voices of the students were heavily applauded by the audience and some gurus even had tears in their eyes. A very special day well spent, mesmerised by the work of young musicians and instrumentalists. What better way to bring in a culture of reverence than through music and celebrate our Indianness.
