Parental Involvement

PTA Meetings – The PTA has various bodies operating in the school for smooth functioning of the collaboration and benefit of its children. The various bodies are –

  • General Body & Special Executive Body.
  • Sub-committee - Cultural, Sports, Tours, Academic
  • Bus Committee – to handle all matters regarding buses, bus fees and other related matters.

The PTA, being a crucial addition to our school, has direct access to Principal and Director with regards to Education, Child Development, Events and school through the ERP module. The School invites parents to partner in decision making that affects the child and family.

General areas of participation by PTA-

  • Scholarships are provided by parents for the needy children without revealing their identity.
  • Parents as readers and writers for Special Needs Children during examinations.
  • Promotes parents as guest speakers on specialized topics in medicine, science, journalism, art, theatre, music, etc.
  • Doctor parents provide medical support to the school by the way of consultation and visits.
  • Yoga sessions are organized by parents.

Participation during events and tours -

  • Parents volunteer in crowd management during school events like the Sports Day which has 30,000 spectators.
  • Parents volunteer as helpers during school tours, especially for the smaller children.
  • Parents participate in the mini marathon held for students and parents to mark the birth anniversary of the Indian Hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand.

Participation during various festivals –

  • During festivals, parents prepare delicacies from their own community for sharing at school. This helps children to know and appreciate the rich culinary diversity that India can be proud of.
  • During festivals like HOLI, parents talk to students on the use of vegetable colours, instead of synthetic colours. Similarly, during the Ganpati festival, parents are invited to participate in a contest organized by the school called Eco-friendly Ganapati.
  • Participate actively in the Master Chef family contest that is organized by the school during the book-fair.
  • During other festivals and celebrations like Children’s Day, the PTA enthusiastically puts up a show for the entertainment of the children.

Industry Connect and International Exchanges-

  • Parent school industry interface – Parents who own industries help the students of Std. XI and XII to be a part of the work environment of the student’s choice and experience the career that they wish to opt for. Parents from the field of media and theatre help school to train them for national drama or skit contest.
  • School organises many sessions with industry experts where students can ask relevant queries and clarify their doubts about various career paths. In the past couple of years of virtual school as well, the school was able to keep the strong connection through it’s YouTube channel which did not hinder learning in any way.
  • The international dimension of the school focusses on exchange programs, where parents pool in for visas and overseas travel to enable the teachers to concentrate on curriculum and cultural rehearsals. Parents design costumes for such national events.
  • Parents host foreign exchange students in their homes voluntarily and ensure that they are comfortable in all ways.

  • The school uses its E-newsletter, the “Dhira” to reach out to the parents and get reviews.
