“The Sulonians celebrated Independence Day - “Azadi ka Mahotsav '' celebrating 76 glorious years of independence with boundless enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The little wonders of Kindergarten stole the show when they stepped on the stage dressed as leaders and freedom fighters. A rainbow of artistic performances showcased by the students of std. 1 and 2 parading in their iconic attire as the national heroes who laid their lives for the freedom of our country.
“The students of std. 3 showcased the unity in diversity of our country. Not only does it symbolizes the celebration of wonderful years of freedom but also extends an empathetic message of the progressive future of our country.
“The enthusiasm for the day was evident as the students of std. 4 got tricolour food which was an absolute treat to the eyes. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as children wore tri-coloured clothes to mark the occasion. The choir group sang melodiously captivating the hearts of everyone with the foot tapping patriotic songs. The vibrant and pulsating dance with melodious song performances by the students of grade 5 was captivating. They performed a skit with a message that freedom is sacred and citizens must act appropriately to ensure that it shall not be endangered.
“The event ended with a motivational speech by our respected mentor of the school, Gladys Cabral infusing the students, teachers and staff with the feeling of nationalism spreading the message of unity, pride in our country and to be responsible citizens of India. Her words that no nation can be strong if its citizens do not take pride in their identity, filled the hearts of the young Sulonians with pride and patriotism.
