Mental Health week
Oct 05, 2020 - Oct 10, 2020
‘Mental Health week’ was a week-long initiative organized by the IBDP department of the school, to raise awareness about mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of it. In the honor of World, Mental Health Day is observed on 10th October every year, the students dedicated an entire week to open discussion about what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people. The eventful week started off with stories of resilience shared by parents, teachers and students. It was inspiring to listen and learn from each other. Next, a guest speaker, Mr. Anmol Jaguste was invited to talk to the students about his personal story of grit and resilience. He is an alumnus of our school, who is currently a part of the co-founding team of a non-profit called OMPHI foundation in India. A biomedical engineer by training, he shared his experiences, struggles and challenges of making a career shift and venturing into a start-up. The last leg of the Mental Health week activities involved an ‘Intervention session’ based on the analysis of questionnaires that were sent out previously. It was a fun and unique intervention, spearheaded by the students entirely. The week ended with a ‘Mental Health Advocacy Fair’, which was an interschool Psychology competition aimed at drawing attention to and giving information about various mental health concerns.
